We spent last weekend in Newport at South Beach welcoming Kay and the girls officially in to the family!!! The weather was actually pretty good considering it was May on the Oregon coast! The kids bunked with Grandma and Grandpala in their "bat caves" aka the bunks in the trailer. Jason nicknamed those about a year ago and it has stuck. Brady and I slept in the tent with the dogs. This was Sampson's first camping trip, he was unsure at first but quickly got the hang of it. He was a bit jumpy and easily spooked, but he'll become a camping dog before ya know it! I have missed camping and am looking forward to more trips to come!

A lot of changes!

A lot has happened since my last post in January! Both Brady and I lost our jobs in mid/late January. I have to be honest that it was a blessing in disguise! I had been unhappy for several months and was just waiting for the right time to leave.........I guess God had other plans for me! We have both been unemployed since then.....Brady should be starting a job here in the next few weeks and unless I find the ultimate perfect job for me, I will be staying home with my babies again :-)

The kids have continued to keep us busy, as always. Both had asked if they could play soccer this year and despite the rain/mud, they LOVE it!

A few weeks ago Jason broke his left arm swinging in the backyard. He jumped out of the swing and lets just say he didn't quite nail the landing!

Thanksigiving 2010

We headed to Richland for Thanksgiving and to celebrate Zane's first birthday and dedication. The drive up was a long one due to snow and icy conditions in the Gorge, but once we got there we were able to begin relaxing for a long 4 day weekend and time with family. After a good nights sleep, we woke up and started some prepping for Thanksgiving dinner and then Evan, Brady, and all big kids headed out to do some sledding!

On Friday the kids awoke to find Zane's birthday present from Tami and Evan all ready to play with.....a water/sand table filled with beans for inside use! They LOVED it!! After breakfast and play time, we headed over to Carmichael Hill for some BIG sledding with the neighbors and there daughter LaMat! I thought the little hill by the house was fun.....this was so much more!!! Jason even went off a snow hill jump!!! I wish we got more snow in Canby!

While in Richland we were also there to celebrate Zane's first birthday! Can't believe Z is already 1!!!!!!

On Sunday we headed to church to celebrate Zane's dedication!!!! After church it was time to pack up and head home! It was much better drive home....roads were clear! Had a great weekend and am looking forward to the next trip to WA to visit!

We have a new family member, he is an English Mastiff named Sampson. He was born in July and is the cutest thing ever! He's a quick learner and Zoe has finally warmed up to him! Keeping checking back to see posts about him as he grows and grows! When it's all said and done he will most likely be around 200 pounds!

After Labor Day weekend, reality slapped me upside the head when Jason started 1st grade! I was in denial until it happened, but its here. My baby boy is officially in elementary school! Where in the world did the time go?

Memorial Day Camping Trip 2010

This year we spent the long weekend, made even longer by taking a few extra days off, camping on Mt. Hood. We split our time between Trillium Lake Campground and Clear Lake Campground. The trip was full of firsts: First time camping on Mt. Hood as a family and first time tent camping. The adjustment from a trailer with heat, bathroom, beds, ect....was an interesting one but the kids LOVED camping in the tent. I have to admit that I missed it also!

We left Wednesday night after work and headed up early to Trillium Lake. We pulled into camp around 9 PM.....found the last site available and did a "quick" set-up with our new tent. Once morning arrived we quickly learned that the campground was full........we headed back in to Sandy (mainly because I forgot to back a jacket for Jason.....OOPS!) and planned out our day. We did some research and found Clear Lake Campground which is a rustic campground but is absolutely gorgeous! All sites had an amazing few of the lake. Zoe had a great time in the lake, the kids and I discovered that it was quite cold! The cold water had no affect on Zoe who is our water dog! We spent one day and one night at that camp and then headed back to Trillium to our reserved sites for the our group camping trip.

Trillium Lake is gorgeous as well and quite a bit warmer! We took our canoe out and just swam and played at the lake as much as we possibly could! At camp we had a birthday party for Kyle, Joey and TJ's son. I love group camping like this........especially with this group of friends! Even though we are new to the group, they treat us like we have been with them forever and I LOVE IT!!!

Birthday's and Boats

First I have to say a BIG thank you to Shawnna for the pictures because I (yet again) forgot our camera! Jason wanted to have his birthday in Richland at Tami and Evan's this year........mainly because the hydroplane boat races were going on and he really wanted to see them this year. So we headed up Friday after I got off of work........caravanning with the Richard's. Once we got to Richland our first stop, even before Tami and Evan's, was to Safeway to pick out Jason's birthday cake and get it ordered for next day pick-up............thrilled that they were able to do this! Once the SpongeBob cake was picked out, it was off to Tami's to get settled in.

When we got there dinner was waiting........talk about a nice treat! After dinner the evening was spent outside visiting with everyone. By everyone I mean: Tami, Evan, Olin, Zane, Mom, Dad, Bill, Shawnna, Ryan, and Kristin. It was a nice and relaxing evening.

Saturday started bright and early with a quick breakfast and getting everyone (who was going) ready to go the boat races. Every year there is a hydroplane races in the Tri-Cities, you can pretty much count on us being there each year, it was an amazing time! Even though it was super hot (104) we managed to stay cool by putting our lawn chairs in the river............talk about an amazing way to regulate your temperature!

After the races we head back to the house for bbq chicken and birthday fun. Jason had a blast at the river but was more than ready to go celebrate his birthday. I think he enjoyed himself, he even talked Grandma in to playing Pokemon (by the real rules)!!!!!

Sunday was spent at the races again and then it was time to go back the house to pack up to head back to Canby. I think next year we will take and extra day to hang out! Thanks again Shawnna for sharing the pictures.

Welcome Brody Parker Thomas!

The newest additio8n to our family was born on Saturday July 10th at 8:13 AM. He was welcomed to the world by Rodney, Grandma, and Aunt Jen. I can't tell you how excited I was to be in the delivery room to witness his birth! I have to say it was very different to be on the other side of delivery for once! It was beautiful to witness and I am so honored to have been a part of it!

Spring trip to Cali!

In early April, we took a vacation to Southern California for Aunt Charmayne's wedding. We stayed at Carl's condo in Santa Monica. Our first full day there, Summer, Jason, Brooklyn, Brady and I headed to the Santa Monica Pier. First stop was the beach for playing and wave jumping. The only one who really swam was Summer, the crazy girl! After about an hour on the beach we headed to the Pier for rides, arcade, and lunch. My favorite part was the Ferris Wheel because the views were spectacular! Jason and Brooklyn LOVED the arcade!

The following day was Charmayne and Michael's wedding in Hermosa Beach. It was a beach wedding and fun times catching up with family that we haven't seen in awhile!

On Sunday we spent Easter morning at the condo in Santa Monica with the kids and had a super yummy breakfast of pull-aparts which is a staple for holiday's! We then headed back to Hermosa Beach to celebrate with the family. We also had a first, Easter egg hunting on the beach!

I can't believe it had been 4 years since our last trip to California, we won't do that again! The kids loved the trip and still continue to talk about it. I miss the sunshine and family down there! Hoping to go back soon!

Christmas 2009

Christmas always starts with Brady and I staying up late on Christmas Eve wrapping presents and baking. It's a tradition that started when Jason was a baby and I look forward to it every year!

Christmas morning began bright and early, with the kids running down the hall and grabbing their stockings and then in was on to presents. Their big present was a Wii system, once all presents were opened, it was time to the play the Wii. (thanks to Daddy it was all hooked up from the night before, great thinking on his part!) After everything was cleaned up and all of us got dressed, we had a breakfast burrito breakfast, another tradition that started a few years ago that seems to have stuck! After breakfast, we headed to Oregon City to celebrate with Grandma and Papa and the O'Rourkes: Misty, Ryan, Lincoln, Zachary, and Allie. It was an absolutely wonderful day!

Weekend in Sunriver

In either November or December, several of us headed over to my friend's (and boss) house in Sunriver. In attendance where: me, Brady, Kristie, Juan, Christine, and Elan. We all know each through Kristie. Several rounds of poker were played, Apples to Apples (for shots no less) and lots of tequila was drank! During the day, the guys hung out at the house and relaxed while the girls headed into town for shopping and lunch. I have to say that Bend definitely has one of the best TJ Maxx stores ever. We had an amazing lunch at a restaurant on Wall street, for the life of me can't remember the name! But I can tell the food was amazing and we learned how to make pumpkin pie martinis! Those are super YUMMY!

It was a super fun time and I am always looking forward to the next trip!

Pumpkin Patch 2009

We continued our annual tradition of a trip out to our favorite pumpkin patch. This year we went with our good friends the Nethertons: Bill, Jamie, Seth, and Maddie. Even though it was super busy we all had a great time, with the exception of Brooklyn and Brady in the hay maze. It was pitch black inside the hay maze and Brooklyn lost it. Unfortunately it took them quite awhile to "find" their way out (ask Brady about that). All in all it was a great trip and I can't wait to go back next October!

We went on Kristie's boat to welcome John and Duayne from our processing company in Atlanta. They came out for a working trip but managed to squeeze in some fun time with the crew from eCom! After all, we are their favorite girls! It was a fun night and I feel so lucky to be where I am in my life with work and family! I couldn't ask for a better life, I honestly feel like the luckiest person alive sometimes :-)

Jason's Birthday Camping Trip

This was a special camping trip requested by Jason for his 5th birthday! We went to Blackberry Campground, which is about 15 miles outside of Waldport along the Alsea River. We made an extra long trip of it and had a blast! I forgot how much I love to swim in the river! We caught crawdad's everyday and on the last evening we created the best butter based dip for those crawdads! Jason was in heaven because he got to take his new bike and ride all around the campground and Brooklyn became quite good on her new bike with her training wheels. Don't think it'll be long before she's asking for those to come off!

Jason's 5th Birthday Party!!!!!!!!

Yesterday was Jason's 5th birthday party with friends from school and family! Even though it was quite warm, it was a wonderful day! The day started with Tami and Evan taking all three kids (Olin, Jason Brooklyn) to the park for a few hours so Brady and I could get things set-up and ready! I don't know what we would have done without them, they made the morning go so smooth!

After that, my parents showed up to help put the finishing touches on the food and decorations! My dad helped Brady hang the misting system up in the backyard, this was a wonderful idea my husband had! It made the heat much more bearable!

At 1 o'clock the bouncy house was delivered and then the party began at 2. The kids had so much fun! Jason absolutely loved having his friends from school here! The pool and bouncy house were big hits! We hadn't intended on kids getting in the pool, don't know what I was thinking! LOL!!!! Kids ended up fully clothed in the pool but they were having so much fun the parents didn't mind at all!

Once the party was over and the backyard was cleaned up, the four of us headed into the house to cool down in the air conditioning! It was such a wonderful day! I am looking forward to next years party!

A Saturday on the River

Last Saturday was spent on my boss' boat enjoying friends and a gorgeous day! We left the marina at 1 PM and headed out into the Columbia. We traveled to where the Columbia and Willamette met up and then headed to down town Portland. It was absolutely beautiful! I have never seen down town Portland from that perspective before! I hope we can do that again soon!

Tonight we met Misty, Ryan, Lincoln, Zachary, Kathy and Carl at a water park for the kids in Oregon City. This is the firs time we have been to this water park, Jason absolutely loved it, Brooklyn not so much. She would rather be in a pool than running through water. We arrived before everyone, once the rest of the group arrived the kids played in the water together, a little. Zachary also was not so sure of the water as well! We splashed, played football, frisbee, and had dinner in the park! I can guarantee you will be back! It was so much fun and I love getting out of the house!

Weekend in Richland

The last weekend in June we headed up for a three day weekend in Richland to visit Tami, Evan, and Olin. We arrived Thursday night around 9:30. After the kids went to bed it was some quiet visiting for the adults.

Friday morning after breakfast, Brady, the kids and I headed to the park to play and let the dogs swim in the river. After the park we headed to the local farms market for fresh treats and to pick up yummy Mexican food for lunch! Mom, Dad, and Brandon arrived shortly after lunch. When nap time was over we headed to the park again to play in the wading pool. Brooklyn and Jason are such fish! Brandon wasn't so sure of the water. Eric, who is doing a gun show in the area arrived at dinner time. After dinner it was off to a different park to watch a hot rod parade! I was surprised to see how much Jason loved the cars!

Saturday was spent at the house cutting down trees. Mom, Tami, and I walked to a local toy store and did some antiquing along the way. When we returned the boys headed out for some fishing on Evan's boat while the girls the little boys headed out to the back yard to play in Olin's pool.

Sunday morning was a lazy morning and then we packed up to head home. Before we headed home we stopped at the park again to have a picnic and let the dogs swim again! I really enjoy these visits and I hope to do them more often!

Jason's graduation from Pre-K!

The first weekend in May was spent camping at Beverly Beach campground just north of Newport. We celebrated the maiden voyage of my parents new trailer! Eric and his girlfriend Sandy, Melissa, Rodney, Brandon, my Aunt Mary, and us all spent the weekend together! I have to say that I haven't camped much at this campground but it's quickly becoming a favorite of mine!

Friday night after camp was set-up the evening was spent visiting and playing baseball with Jason and Brooklyn....who were also thrilled to find a huge sandpit at the very back of our campsites, digging for treasures happened all weekend long!

Saturday after breakfast we all headed to the aquarium and lucky for us the rain seemed to fall only when we were inside! Jason's favorite place was the Passages of the Deep exhibit....LOVED the sharks and being able to lay on the floor and look the glass at the sharks and fish! On our way back to camp we had to take a detour through Newport since the main roads were all blocked off for a parade. It was a nice surprise and I saw parts of Newport I never knew existed! We stopped at Izzy's in Agate Beach for lunch and then it was back to camp for naps for all! Once we awoke, Brady, me and the kids went on a nature walk. We found 14 salamanders so I can only imagine how many we missed! Saturday evening we made beef stew and bread. After dinner, Eric, Sandy and my crew headed to the beach with the dogs.

Sunday morning was gorgeous, the rain again fell only while we were inside at night! Soon enough it was time to tear down camp and head home. I know we will be back to the beach soon, Jason wants to camp for his birthday and is requesting time at the beach!

April was a busy month. Easter was spent at home coloring eggs and then church with Misty, Ryan, Lincoln, Zachary, Kathy and Carl. We also found out the Misty and Ryan are expecting baby number 3!!!!! We introduced Brooklyn and Jason to fishing.....which they do seem to enjoy! The lose interest if the fish aren't biting but love to catch the fish. Jason is getting pretty good at casting and Brooklyn is excellent at reeling in the fish! I will post more pictures once I get them off of Brady's computer. I apologize for the long delay in getting new posts on.....we got new carpet in April and things are still being found and getting put away! You should see my bathtub in my bathroom.......still very full of things to be put away!

Girls Weekend

The weekend began Friday night with Tami, Evan, Olin, Melissa, Rodney, Brandon,and Tasha all arriving at our house for our weekend together. I only wish Eric didn't have to work so he could have been a part of the weekend! Brooklyn made dinner (with a little help from Mom) for everyone, a very yummy ham/pineapple pizza! After dinner Brooklyn and Olin enjoyed a bath together....Olin peeing in the tub and Brooklyn drinking out of the faucet!

Saturday morning started early.....as my kids are always early risers! Tami made breakfast burritos for all, it was a nice treat! After breakfast the girls (with the exception of Brooklyn) got ready for a day full of shopping! Even though Melissa was feeling a bit under the weather, she was a trooper through the day! While we were gone, the guys took the kids to the park to play and after lunch played in the backyard until the girls arrived home! Once we were home, it was more playing outside since we had such beautiful weather! Brady and I treated all to Thai food for dinner......I think all of us where stuffed by the time the night was through!

Sunday was an even nicer day....and silly us decided to take the kids to the zoo, which was of course a zoo since it was the weekend and the weather was gorgeous! All-in-all it was a pretty good trip to the zoo, a few melt-downs (both kids and adults :-)) We look forward to doing this kind of weekend again soon, either in Albany or Richland!

February

February was pretty uneventful. We managed to take a weekend away as a family....we headed to Yachets. Brady has a friend who owns a hotel over there. I was sick but still managed to enjoy the weekend. The main reason we went was to get the kids out of the house and to a hotel where there was an indoor pool for swimming! My kids LOVE the water and LOVE to swim! We spent time on the beach, which let me find my first ever whole sand dollar! I actually found two!

Another hurdle over!

Well this weekend signified another milepost/hurdle in Brooklyn's little life! Friday night I took her plug (pacifier) away! Knock on wood, so far it has been actually quite a smooth transition! We continue to work on potty training but right now she doesn't seem to have much interest in it at all! Any tips? Jason was easy to potty train, his daycare did most of it! Looking forward to being done with diapers once and for all!

A day full of cooking and kids!

Although there are no pictures (Melissa's camera was left in Albany and Brady has mine) I'll go ahead and tell you about our day of cooking! Melissa and I decided to try and get together once a month and do a day of cooking dinner entres that we can put in the freezer. Today we made chicken pot pies, veggie lasagnas, enchilada casserole, and turkey meatloafs. Not only are we making our evenings for the next month a little bit easier, we got to spend the day together cooking and playing with the kids! Keep an eye out....I am going to try and post some of our favorite recipes!

Welcome in 2009! We did this by selling our Hyundai to a co-worker of Brady's and getting a new toy for Brady! This would be his "new" 2003 Jag! It's sooooo beautiful and fun to drive!

January went by so fast that I'm amazed that we are now into February! During January we enjoyed time with family and friends. We even managed to take a Saturday and spend it at the zoo....even though it was chilly it was still a fun day! Between work and kids....life goes on and on! Amazing to watch how kids change and how much they are growing and learning every day!

Christmas...better late than never!!!!

Yeah....I know......better late than never! Ever since I went back to work in July my blogging seems to be a few months behind!

Christmas morning started bright and early....6:30 a.m. Presents where all opened before the sun came up! Jason was most excited to see that Santa brought him his metal detector (Uncle Bill, you and him will have to go do some detecting together!) He was also thrilled with his new guitar and telescope! Now if only we can have some decent star viewing weather for the new telescope! Brooklyn got a brand new Little People Dollhouse and can sit there for an hour and play! It's amazing how much she has changed since last Christmas! Our traditional Christmas breakfast is the best ever breakfast burritos with fresh pineapple on the side!

The afternoon was spent at Kathy's in Oregon City. Misty, Ryan, Lincoln, and Zachary were also there. Leighton, Jen and Trinity also came over for Christmas dinner since they were staying in a hotel because their house was still without power from the recent storms!

It was a blessed and wonderful day spent with family and friends!

Well, the title says it all! I'm not sure where I am when I look at my front and back yards! There is about 18 inches of snow out there! The kids and I stayed home today....Brady came home around noon! We stayed home mostly because the roads where a mess but it was partly because it is my 32nd birthday today! The day started out lazy.....just hanging out and watching Disney.....how lucky could we be that they had a Mickey Mouse Christmas movie on today? Boy, was Brooklyn happy! Jason and Brooklyn helped bake my birthday cake! Only one minor incident with an egg dropping on the floor. After lunch and naps, we headed outside. Brooklyn didn't like the snow much today....it was too deep for her. Jason loved it, was just a bit disappointed when he realized the snow was the kind to make snowmen out of! But he still managed to have fun! Once back inside, it was time to decorate the cake! I did the frosting and the kids did the sprinkles. We then chained up the Durango and headed to the grocery store for some dinner fixings and some much needed ice cream to go with the birthday cake! All in all, we are surviving the weather.....just doesn't seem real at times! I know I always ask for the snow to stick around......but this is a bit much!

Snow Day in Canby!

Today awoke to snow starting to fall, we accumulated several inches rather quickly! Even though it was a bit windy, the kids and I headed out to play! Melissa, Rodney and Brandon were up visiting so they soon joined us after getting little man dressed for the snow! Brooklyn and Jason were in heaven, Brandon wasn't quite sure what to think of the snow! Since the temperature kept dropping and the wind kept getting stonger, we only got out the one time! But it was sure fun and we look forward to more snow in the near future!

eCom's X-Mas party!

Saturday was eCom's christmas party! We went to El Gaucho in Portland. I have to say this is by far one of the best restaurants in the Portland area! The steak Brady had was incredible! After dinner we headed to a new club called "The Nines", it was an interesting place. It reminded me of someplace you might visit in New York or LA. Still it was a fun evening! I feel very blessed to be working for such a wonderful boss Kristie!

Atlanta, Baby!

At the beginning of December Kristie and I went to Atlanta for our processors, Priority Payment Systems, Christmas party! I was especially excited to go since this was a trip I won through a contest at work! We arrived in Atlanta on Wednesday December 3rd, we quickly through our bags into our room and then headed to one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever been to! There I met Duayne, Maya, John, Stacey, and Carly. They are all with Priority, I know them all by voice! It was nice to finally have faces to go with the emails and voices! The weekend was full of fun and little sleep!!!!! It was all worth it though! I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Halloween in Washington!

This halloween was spent in Washington visiting Tami, Evan, and Olin. Besides us my parents and the Richards went! On the way up we stopped at a fish hatchery to pull out blankets and Brooklyn's plug, we were pleasantly suprised to find the stream full of spawning Salmon! We could've stayed and watched the fish all afternoon but we needed to make Richland for trick-or-treating! We arrived in time for a quick dinner and changing into costumes for trick-or-treating. Jason was a pirate and Brooklyn was an OSU Beaver cheerleader! Sorry there are no pictures of them in their costumes, don't know what happened to our camera that night! The next day Shawnna, Mom, Kristin, Ryan and I headed up to Chuker Cherries in Prosser, one of our favorite places to visit! On Sunday was Olin's dedication at their church! The kids enjoyed their time together in the nursery after the dedication. After church it was snacks, which the enjoyed as you can tell by the pictures! After church it was lunch and then pack-up to head home. It was a wonderful trip, one I look forward to repeating next year!

Govenor's Gold Awards

The company I work with sponsored a table at the Govenor's Gold Awards for Oregon Special Olympics. It was a fun night, only would have been better if Kristie could have made the event but since her babysitter cancelled she was left with not much of choice. I was happy to have a reason to get dressed up and go out with Brady!

Ok....Ok.....I know it's been a few months since I last updated! Time sure does fly and I just hadn't realized it had been so long, even though I have had people telling me it had! The summer ended with Jason starting preschool at Canby Christian Preschool! He is in heaven, he loves going to school and seeing his friends! I promise it won't be so long in the future!

A Lazy Saturday at home in Canby!

Today began with french toast and cleaning. It was a cool morning so the kids and I took advantage of it and opened the house and cleaned! After we all got dressed, it was off to the backyard! They love to swing and climb!

We moved to the front to ride scooters and draw with sidewalk chalk. Soon after, my parents arrived to show off their new toy. They bought a Dodge Journey yesterday....must say it is very nice! Jason enjoyed climbing around in it and discovering the hidden storage areas! We then all piled into my Durango to go to Target to do some shopping for upcoming birthdays. After our return home, it was a quick lunch and naps for the kids.

After Jason woke up from his nap....Grandma taught him how to use his yo-yo, I have to say that he is catching on to it quickly and easier than I thought he would. He is constantly surprising me!

Around 4 my parents left to return to Brownsville and the kids and I hit the grocery store. Then it was home for a dinner of waffles, which Jason requested. We then headed out to the backyard for some more fun before baths and bed.

The only thing that could have made this day better was having Brady home. He is in Centralia, Washington for a gun show this weekend. We always miss him tons when he is gone!

Beating the heat!

On Saturday, with temperatures topping out around 102 in the valley, we packed up the Durango early Saturday morning and headed to the beach! It was so nice to be able to go somewhere cooler for the day!

We first headed to Lincoln City, arriving around lunch time. After a quick lunch out, it was off to the beach! Luckily the wind kicked up so there could be some kite flying for us all! Jason was so excited to fly his kite for the first time! Brooklyn even got in on the action. We also spent time playing in the surf and digging in the sand. At first Brooklyn wasn't so sure of the sand...but by the end of our time on the beach she was getting the hang of it!

Once we left the beach it was time to drive to Tillamook, so the kids could nap in the car. We headed to the Tillamook Cheese Factory, but quickly realized it was WAY to busy and crowded for us and the kids! It all worked out well though...we found a small soft serve ice cream place that had 24 flavors of soft serve! Jason was so funny eating his cone...he had to get all of the ice cream out of the cone before he would eat the cone. It was a soft, smoochy mess by the time it was all said and done, but he loved it!

It was sad to leave but we needed to get home to let the dogs out. We stopped at Trader Joes and picked up some dinner supplies for Brady, his mom, and I. We had steamer clams, bread, salad, and wine for dinner. It was a wonderful day, one we shall repeat in the near future!

8/8/08 Happy Birthday Lincoln!

Today after I got off of work at 2 pm...I met Brady at Misty's to pick up the kids to go to a party at my bosses house. Before we left Misty's house we gave Lincoln his birthday presents from the kids. Later that night was the birthday party but we weren't able to make it unfortunetly.

After Lincoln opened his presents, we headed to my boss's (Kristie) house in Damascus. It was a fun evening full of wonderful food, play with the kids, and swimming in the pool! Kristie's two youngest kids, Brooklyn and Richie, had a blast in the pool with Jason and Brooklyn! The older Brooklyn and Jason played prince and princess all evening, man was she upset with him when he wouldn't dance with her anymore! It was a great evening, one I hope happens again soon!

8/2/08 - Jason's 4th Birthday Party

The day started with the baking of Jason's birthday cake. Once it was cooled Jason and Summer helped Brady and I frost the cake and then place the pirate decorations on the cake. Then it was time to get ready for the party. It was a fun day had by all...the big hit with the kids was Jason's new scooter!

After everyone went home (except Summer who stayed the night), it was a "camping" trip in our backyard, complete with roasted marshmallows over the campfire! It was a wonderful evening. We all headed to bed around 10 pm. Brooklyn and I ended up back in the house due to her waking up, and I didn't want everyone else in the trailer to wake up!

This was on the cover of Saturday's "Canby Herald." We went to National Night Out at a local park. It was tons of fun...they had games, jumpy houses and free hot dogs/burgers/ice cream. The kids also got to meet local police officers and fire fighters and paramedics!

Well, my baby boy turned four today!!! Time sure does fly! Today started like most mornings....wake-up, get ready to go to daycare and then off to daycare/work. When I picked up Jason and Brooklyn from daycare today everyone was wearing pirate hats. Jason and Summer where in the backyard digging for buried treasure in the sand box. Apparently during naps today a bunch of pirates came to Misty's house and buried some treasures in the sand box. They even left clues that Jason had to find to get to the buried treasure! (Thank you SOOO very much for that Misty!)

After I picked them up it was home to pick-up Brady and off to swim class. Then it was dinner at Denny's for alien pancakes. Once we got home it was present time. Jason got to open his presents from us and Brooklyn tonight. He was thrilled with his new pirate ship, camera, movies, buried treasure kit, and pirate Mr. Potatohead stuff. Then it was cupcakes and bed.

Saturday will be another party with everyone and a homemade birthday cake by Jason! Stay tuned for pictures of that!!!!

A busy weekend!

We had a busy weekend of moving! Misty and Ryan rented a house in Oregon City and it was time to move! Kathy was very kind and took all four children while the rest of us moved them into their house on Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday morning we made a breakfast of pancakes and Jason and Brooklyn wanted to help stir the batter. Jason did more eating of dried cranberries than stirring....but his little sister sure didn't mind!

A relaxing weekend

The weekend started Friday evening with Bill arriving from Sweet Home to visit for the weekend. Shawnna and the kids are in Canada with Tracy and the 5 kids. After a dinner of pizza and salad it was bed time for the kids. After the kids went to bed it was movie time for the adults...we watched "National Treasure." Then it was off to bed.

Saturday began early...kids were both up by 7. After a breakfast of pancakes Jason and Brady headed off to get hair cuts while Brooklyn and I hit target. Bill stayed with the dogs and got some quiet reading done. When Brooklyn and I got back we found the boys in the backyard. Jason was in his new pool. Brooklyn soon insisted that she wanted to go "ninning" which is her way of saying swimming. Saturday was hot....but we managed to have a very relaxing day. Bill, Jason, and Brooklyn and I even got naps in. We had a great dinner of london broil, bread, salad, and corn on the cob. The kids watched some "Clifford" and then they were off to bed. The adults watched another movie..."The Hitman." Thanks Bill!

Bill left Sunday morning after breakfast to head back home to work on a few projects. We headed to church. After naps (yes we all took one) it was out to the backyard for more pool fun. Kathy and Carl stopped by for a quick visit. After a dinner of take-out it was more "Clifford for the kids." Enjoy!

4th of July and more updates!

The last few weeks have been busy and fun. I began job hunting a few weeks ago and have been going through interviews. Luckily Misty has been kind enough to take Jason and Brooklyn while I am gone. She is even going to watch them when I am working!

After the big weekend of rearranging our yard....Brady put the finishing touches on the gate/fence and the kids broke in the new layout of their toys and thoroughly enjoyed having the trailer in the backyard! On Saturday Melissa, Rodney and Brandon came up for the weekend. After they arrived at our place Jason and I tagged along to Aiden's birthday party! Jason had so much fun! It is a blast to watch him with kids his age! After the party we met Brady and Brooklyn in Oregon City for dinner and visiting at Kathy and Carl's. Sunday was spent relaxing and more visiting.

Monday began with more interviews, which turned into more interviews on Tuesday and a job offer for me! I begin work on Monday...I am looking forward to it but also a bit nervous. Will keep you all posted on it!

The Fourth of July weekend began on Thursday morning with Melissa, Brandon and my dad arriving. They were soon followed by Tami, Evan, and Olin. It was a great day of visiting and getting the kids together! That evening was swim class. I am so proud of both Jason and Brooklyn. They went off of the rope swing! Jason went 3 times by himself and Brooklyn went twice with her swim teacher Kayla. They are growing up so fast!

Today began with breakfast and clean-up. Around 10:30 we all headed to "General Canby Day's" in the center of town for yummy food, music, and the car show! Then it was back to our place for bbq and visiting! We even did some fireworks this year....granted it was totally daylight but the kids loved it! Someday we'll get to do them in the dark!

A Weekend of Change, Fun, Work and Friends!

First I need to apologize that there are no pictures...there is a link below to Shawnna's blog for pictures. Somehow all of the pictures that I had taken (even though there weren't many) of this weekend got deleted off of my camera.

This weekend marked a weekend of change at our house.....we moved our shed and now have our own private campground/park in our own back yard! We decided to move the shed to the other side of the yard and put our trailer in the backyard by the kids play area. With gas prices the way they are most of our camping will be done in the backyard for awhile!

The process started earlier in the week for us. Brady worked on pulling and replanting arborvitae so he could put in a gate. On Friday Bill, Shawnna, Ryan and Kristin arrived for a weekend of work. We couldn't have done this project without them! Each person did work...either in the yard or with watching Jason and Brooklyn. After they arrived on Friday evening the work started with the removal of the large fir tree in the backyard! (To see pictures check out Shawnna's blog.) After the tree was done we all got to work cleaning up the branches. After we got as much of that done as we could the guys went to work on moving the play structure, Ryan and Kristin gave the kids baths, and Shawnna and I headed to the store for much needed groceries for the weekend ahead.

Saturday began with breakfast and coffee! After breakfast it was back to work. The guys took the dump trailer full of tree trimmings to a local yard waste recycle spot while Shawnna and I cleaned out the shed. After the guys got back the shed moving process began. It took awhile but the shed is now relocated and no one was hurt in the process!!!!! Saturday after the work was done it was dinner of grilled steaks, dessert of ice cream sundae's and then a nice long soak in the hot tub to work out the kinks!

Sunday began after a breakfast of blueberry pancakes, eggs, and bacon! It was time to start spreading the cedar bark chips in the play/trailer area. While Shawnna, Brady, and I worked on this Bill and Ryan set to work on leveling the shed. Soon all of us were pitching in on the cedar chips. Once that was done it was time to clean-up the yard, reload the shed, and mow the grass! After the work was done it was showers and a nice visit with Kathy and Carl. Then it was a treat for the adults...Ryan and Kristin stayed home with Jason and Brooklyn while the adults went to dinner at Buggatti's in Oregon City! After dinner it was back to Canby with another long soak in the hot tub!

Monday morning started early....the Richard's left about 6:15 to get Bill to work on time in Corvallis and then Brady headed out to work. The kids and I did grocery shopping and cleaning. Once Brady got home it was back to work...he fixed the gate in the backyard so we have privacy again! Enjoy the pictures!

Melissa and Brandon came up on Tuesday morning for an overnight visit! It was so much fun to see how the three kids interact now! Brandon is growing up so very fast. He got to see Jason and Brooklyn at swim class. He even got to go into the hot tub for the first time....he loved it! It was a good visit!

A Weekend in Richland

Friday began bright and early for us. My parents met us at our house around 9 AM and then Jason, Brooklyn, Mom, Dad, and I piled into the Durango for a weekend visit with Tami, Evan, and Olin. On the way to Washington we stopped at the Bonneville visitor center to watch the shad go through the fish ladder. It was a neat sight and the kids loved it, we even saw a few salmon go by. Thanks Evan for the tip! After we arrived it was a relaxing afternoon and evening of visiting.

Saturday morning arrived early again...Brooklyn was up half the night for some reason. After a quick breakfast and showers it was off to the neighborhood garage sale...what a treat! I stocked up on kids clothes...only spending $25 and getting a ton! After the garage sale we all walked to the park for a picnic and playing. We surprised to see mini-hydroplane boats getting ready to race! Another wonderful afternoon! After naps it was fun in the pool for the kids with watermelon snacks! Dinner was grilled roast, salad, and baked spuds! After the kids went to bed it was outside for a fire and popcorn.

Sunday morning we walked to a local bagel shop for breakfast and then stopped at another park for some playing and swinging. Then it was back to Tami and Evan's for clean-up, lunch, and hit the road for the drive home. After we got home it was off to Brady's mom's house for ribs, baked beans, corn on the cob, and potato salad! It was a great weekend.

Our camping trip began Friday afternoon when the kids and I met Brady at work in Salem and then headed to Newport. After a quick dinner at the "Fry Shack" we headed to Southbeach and set up camp.

Saturday started off dreary and drizzly....with the afternoon shaping up nicely with sunshine! After a morning trip to Walmart we hung out at camp. After naps it was time for a walk to the beach! The kids and dogs enjoyed the water! Brooklyn did not enjoy her time on the beach, so her and I headed back to camp before everyone else.

Sunday was beautiful! Brady, Jason, Brooklyn, and I headed into Newport to go see the Sea Lions on the docks while the rest of the group went to check out some tide pools. The O'Hara's headed home Sunday afternoon while the Richard's and us decided to stay one more night and get up early to get the guys to work! While some took naps, Brady and I took some kids to the playground to play. After dinner it was campfire pie time and homemade ice cream! YUMMY! And then off to bed to get ready for the early morning!

Today was spent at home. After breakfast it was time to make masks and do paintings. Brooklyn really enjoyed her finger painting. Jason painted his mask and then painted two more pictures. Kristin made two masks..very pretty!

After naps it was hot tub and play outside. Once Brady got home we headed over to Birch Street to mow and pull up all 16 rose bushes and transplant them at our house. Those roses hold special meanings to me...thanks Brady!

Tuesday Fun in Canby

Today was spent at home. The morning was very wet and rainy. Luckily the clouds moved on and only the wind stayed for the afternoon. In the morning after some much needed picking up, Kristin and I headed out to run some errands while Ryan stayed with Jason and Brooklyn.

After naps (me, Jason, and Brooklyn) it was time for fun in the hot tub....with all of us getting in! After that, Brady came home and it was on for more yard work. Brady and Ryan finally got one of the stumps up and out of the back yard! YEAH!!! Then the moving of the arborvitae and removal of the holly tree began! Finally we are making some progress in our next big project!

After a dinner of spaghetti, it was baths and pizza popcorn! Tomorrow we will be making masks and fruity popcorn!

Zoo Monday

Yesterday Bill, Shawnna, Ryan and Kristin came up for the afternoon to visit and drop off the kids for a few days. Jason has been asking for them so we decided it would be a good time for a visit.

Today's weather looks like the only good weather we might have this week, so all four kids and I headed out to the zoo today. We managed to hit the zoo during school visits but we still managed to have a good time. Right now they have a dinosaur exhibit that is incredible....as you can tell by the picture of Brooklyn she didn't enjoy the t-rex much as he was very big and loud. Jason and Ryan loved the exhibit! Some of the pictures of dinosaur's are taken by me and some are taken by Jason. Brooklyn finally fell asleep in the car about 3....she was very tired and even went back down once we got home. The other three kids hit the hot tub for some water fun!

We are already planning an art project for tomorrow that involves making masks....Jason is very interested in how they are made now. He picked out a dinosaur mask from the zoo and we talked about how they are made for about 1/2 the drive home.

A Sunny Friday at Home

The day began sunny and beautiful. Most of the morning was spent outside doing yard work and playing. After naps we headed back out for popsicles and playing in the sun. Once Brady got home we went over to Birch Street. While Brady mowed the lawn the kids played in the garage with some toys we brought with us. One new toy, see video below, is Jason's new "Wild Thing" car! As you can tell by the video he loved it! After dinner, the kids and I got into the hot tub. Both of the kids are total fish! Hope you all enjoy!

You heard it right....I threw Brooklyn's bottles away today. We started milk cups last night which didn't go to well. This morning after a few minutes of crying she drank the whole cup! On a side note....two more potty's today! The light at the end of the diaper tunnel is getting brighter!

A new milestone for Brooklyn!

Today we hit a new milestone with Brooklyn....she went potty on the toilet! Several weeks ago we started sitting her on the toilet to get her used to it and recently she started showing more signs that she is ready to start potty training. When she woke up from her nap today her diaper was dry so I put her on the potty and she went!!!!! Jason was so excited....he even got to tell Daddy over the phone the good news!!!!! I know we are a long way from the end...but I just had to share!

Our Movie day and other updates

I had a long weekend with Brooklyn. My parents came up on Friday to visit and watch the kids (Brady was out of town) that evening so I could go out with my MOM's group. Brooklyn ended up in urgent care Friday afternoon due to a double ear infection. Thanks to my parents, who are real troopers, I did still manage to have my night out. Saturday was spent with a cranky and still not feeling well little girl. Her fever finally broke early Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon the kids and I headed over to my in-laws for take-out and visiting. Monday was spent at home just being together. As you can tell by the picture of Jason he thoroughly enjoyed his fudge popsicle!

Tuesday evening we had Ryan, Misty, Lincoln, and Zachary over for dinner and visiting. It was a good time and nice to have adult conversations!

Wednesday ended up being movie day at our house since both Brady and Jason where feeling a bit under the weather. We brought the futon mattress out into the living room, made popcorn, homemade chicken noodle soup and biscuts, and just relaxed! It was a nice day.....the only thing that would have made it better was the boys feeling better!

Today was gorgeous!!! We started the morning with pancakes and house cleaning. We then headed outside to fill up the kids swimming pool. The water was very cold but you can tell that it didn't stop Jason and Brooklyn. Brooklyn was in with her socks and shoes on. After naps we all headed back out for more fun in the pool. The morning was spent cleaning up the house and doing laundry. Around 11:30 Misty, Lincoln, and Zachary came over for a visit. The kids had fun playing and drinking water from their own water bottles with spill proof lids! (A great find....they are called Lil Toppers, highly recommend them!) Although it was a short visit it was great to catch up with Misty! We both agreed that we need to try and get the kids together more!

After Brady got home from work on Friday we all piled into the Durango and headed south to Sweet Home for the weekend! When Jason woke up from his nap on Thursday he said that we needed to take the back roads to Sweet Home since he missed Shawnna, Bill, Ryan and Kristin. So after so IM'ing with Shawnna on Thursday evening the weekend plans were set! Have to say Jason had a great idea!!!! We arrived Friday evening around 7, the kids played and then had baths. After baths Jason and Kristin played dress-up, they even mananged to get Brady involved! Jason and Brooklyn went to bed shortly after 9, Kristin around 10, adults around 12:30, and Ryan at 1:30! We had a great evening of much needed visiting.

Saturday began with everyone sleeping in a bit, which kicked off a lazy morning enjoying the sunshine and view from the deck! Around 1:30 Jason, Brooklyn and Bill went down for naps. Brady took Ryan fishing at Foster Lake, only a few bites and nothing caught but they still had fun! Shawnna and I took her plants out of the shed and cleaned them up and put them on the deck. After naps it was rock painting and an early dinner of yummy steaks! We then all headed off for a nice drive around Foster Lake and a yummy after dinner treat of Dairy Queen! The evening wrapped up with kids in bed and Shawnna making donkeys for Sunday school the next day. We headed to bed around 11 since we had church in the morning and we were are tired from our late night the previous day.

Sunday we went to church, had lunch and headed home. Once we got home Brady had some work he needed to finish. After that was done we headed up to Costco and then over to Brady's moms for burgers. Today began with a visit from Melissa, Rodney and Brandon who are on their way to Union Station in Portland to catch a train to Seattle where they are departing for a week long cruise to Alaska. They will be joining a lot of my family on this cruise...we just couldn't swing it this time. After a nice visit with them it was time to pack for me....once Brady gets home from work we are headed to the Richards for the weekend. After the kids woke up from naps we spent the afternoon in the backyard waiting for Brady to get home. When it was close to time we headed in so I could finish packing and get things ready!Keeping looking for more pics from the weekend!

Just thought I would share a snack idea with you all. It's something that Jason loves with his apples that I created one day...I must admit that it's pretty yummy. I mix peanut butter and vanilla yogurt together until smooth and creamy. Dip apples in and enjoy!!!!!!

A Sunny Weekend

Saturday began with a "big problem" as Jason called it, which it was. We awoke to a minor flood in our kitchen by the refrigerator and laundry room. Turned out that the drain tube for the washing machine came out of the wall during the last cycle of laundry Friday night. We might have to replace some flooring in the near futuer...we shall see. We then headed out of the house by 9 to McDonald's for breakfast in the car and then over to our other house to make sure it was ready for the open house, next we headed up to Home Depot for supplies for our day of yard work and planting. After a remarkably quick and easy trip (surprised Brady and I) we were headed home. After mowing and some weeding...planting began. Jason really wanted to plant some sunflowers and carrots this year so those were first on our list. Then it was some cilantro, basil, and strawberries. It was such a beautiful morning! After a lunch on the deck it was naps for the kids and some more yard work for the adults and then showers. After naps Brady and Jason cleaned up the garage while Brooklyn and I went grocery shopping. The evening was also spent outside grilling and playing!

Sunday we awoke to another battle of the colds in our house...now Brooklyn is all congested and snotty. So we skipped church so we didn't spread her crud and horrible mood. Although the day wasn't as sunny and warm as Saturday we still managed to spend most of the morning outside. After naps Kathy and Carl came over for dinner and visiting. I know it has been several weeks since I posted...there is a reason. Sickness. For the past month one if not all of us have been sick with something. Brooklyn is finally over her ear infection. Brady was over his chest cold and some food poisoning but now he has a cold. Jason had a cold, but now has the flu. I am just kicking bronchitis and a sinus infection. Plus I am struggling with winter blah blues or something. I just am not feeing myself and it's really getting to me lately. A Wonderful Tuesday!

Today started off very cold...only in the mid 30's. Once the sun came out and warmed things up the kids and I headed out, we actually spent a large portion of the day outside and I have to say it was wonderful! Tonight we started swim again. As you can tell by the pictures the Jason was excited! Brooklyn and I are in the parent/child class. At the beginning she cried and wasn't so sure about it. After a few moments the splashing and laughing began! Jason did very well in his class...swimming on his back, blowing bubbles, splashing, and jumping off the edge to his teachers!

With the weather still being yucky and Jason battling a cold, we have been staying home and inside. This weekend we did go to dinner with my sister Melissa, her husband and son and my brother Eric. It was the first time in a long time that the triplets have gone out together...hopefully it won't be so long next time!

Sunday was spent at home cleaning and watching movies. Also a much needed time at home with the family.

Monday was back to work for Brady and home bound for the rest of us. We made edible playdough....which they loved. It's the first time we have tried it...still needs a few bugs worked out but it was yummy!

A Day of Pretend Camping

Tuesday was a day of pretend camping for me and the kids. Our carpets were getting cleaned in the morning and needed time to dry out some. Since the kids and I are just getting over chest colds we decided it would be better to not infect anyone else. It was a fun day spent playing in the trailer, a picnic lunch on the floor, and naps for all! After naps it was okay to return to the house...don't be surprised if you see us do this again!

Easter Camping at Milo McIver State Park

The holiday weekend began on Friday afternoon, we arrived at Milo McIver State Park for another Easter camping trip. We arrived at camp around 3:3o, it was a beautiful day. After setting up camp, we relaxed around a campfire and waited for the Richards who arrived around 5:30. It is a beautiful campground, small but that is what we like! After dinner it was bath time for the kids, then playing in the trailer with Kristin and Ryan before bed. After the kids went to bed the adults stayed up around the fire and visited until about 11, even though it was quite cold at 38 degrees. It was nice to catch up with Bill and Shawnna.

Saturday began early with the kids up at 7. Breakfast and then outside to play! After a morning of playing and walking around the campground it was nap time for the kids. Brady ended up being the one who napped, Jason didn't and Brooklyn took an early nap so she was up. After nap time, all kids where sent into the Richards' trailer so we could hide all of the Easter eggs. Ground rules were that Ryan and Kristin couldn't get any of the easy to find eggs for the first five minutes, that way Jason and Brooklyn could find some eggs. During the egg hunt Brady's mom, step-dad, and family friend arrived to visit. After the hunt the boys headed out to check out the fish hatchery at the park. Then it was time to make dinner, kids had mac-n-cheese and we had steelhead! YUMMY! It was a much warmer night, but not as late as the first night. Mainly due to Brady and I having colds and feeling run down.

Sunday morning was wet, quick teardown and we all headed to our house in Canby for a lunch of grilled pork loin, cheesy mashed potatoes, rolls, and salad!

I have to say that I love it when the weather man is wrong! Predicting rain all day...the morning was beautiful. Jason, Brooklyn and I spent a couple of hours out in the backyard just enjoying the morning! I even took a moment while looking at the flowers on the trees and the blue sky to thank God for such a beautiful day and that I am able to stay home with my children! Around lunch time Jason had a wonderful idea...he asked if we could eat lunch outside! Why not....the kids loved it! Then it was more play time and then inside to get ready for naps with the promise of going back out if the weather continued to be nice after naps!

A Friday with Grandma and Grandpala

Today my parents came up and visited. It was a nice visit. We went to Home Depot and then lunch at Sweet Tomatoes, one of Jason's favorite restaurants. After that it was home for naps for kids and catching up for the rest of us.

After naps it was snacks and saying good-bye to my parents. Brady is in Kentucky and this blog is for him! We love and miss you! See you soon!

The Last Few Weeks...Time flys!

The last few weeks have just flown by! On March 3 my grandma and the kid's great-grandma celebrated her 98th birthday! We attended a large family dinner at the Bramble House in Brownsville, for those of you from Brownsville or who know the area; Melissa, Eric and I were blown away that there was a restaurant (a nice one at that) in Brownsville. It was a great dinner, all though it was a long night and not a very kid friendly restaurant! It was great to see my family, even my aunt, uncle, and cousin from Georgia!

Melissa came up and visited on the 4th...it was a short but great visit. Brandon is growing up so fast!

This last week was spent at home. Brooklyn came down with a urinary infection...needless to say she was not a happy camper. Thank goodness for antibiotics! She is doing MUCH better now! Enjoy the pictures!

A Week Full of Fun!

Our week began with the kids and I heading to Washington to visit my sister Tami and her husband Evan, and nephew Olin. We left on Monday morning and returned home on Wednesday. It was a great visit! One I wish we could do more, I miss seeing them. Olin is growing up so fast! When we got home on Wednesday Brady had a surprise for me! Our deck area surrounding the hot tub is gone! YEAH! It looks SO much better, you can see all the way to the play structure now! For those of you who know my house....you know what I am talking about!

After we returned home it was back to normal life, sort of. Brady was on jury duty all week. On Friday he got dismissed early and we managed to sneak in a trip to the zoo! It was a great day! I wish we could do these days more!

A quiet Tuesday at home

Today was spent at home..a nice quiet day! The kid and I enjoyed it, especially since I had missed them SOOOO much while they were in Sweet Home for the days I had to work. We spent the day playing and then baked brownies after nap. While Jason and I baked, Brooklyn at her snack. Jason loves to cook! He even cracked the eggs all by himself with no shells!!!!!

Welcome Zachary!

Our friends Misty and Ryan welcomed their second son, Zachary, on January 31! He weighed in at 11 lbs and 5 oz, 22 1/2 inches long! He is a big boy! The kids and I picked up Lincoln earlier in the day and then that night we headed over to visit!

We have been very busy since then.....Brady had the Sportsman show which ran for a week, very long days. I helped out on Friday and Saturday at the show, while our friends Bill and Shawnna took the kids! They always have so much fun with them. Snowy Day Fun in Sweet Home

I apologize for the lateness of this blog entry...got home and the cord to my computer was dead. On Sunday we decided to go to Sweet Home and visit the Richards' since Brady was gone to California on his annual fishing trip. The closer we got.....the snowier it got. We made it all in one piece...with the Durango being parked at the neighbors house. There was no way it was going up their driveway. Jason, poor little guy, had to pee so bad that he didn't even make into the house! And then the sledding began! Jason and even Brooklyn enjoyed it! I have yet to meet a 13 month old that likes to tube down a hill in the snow by themselves! You think Brady and I have a fearless child on our hands? After some sledding we all went in for lunch and naps. While the kids napped I got to work on a puzzle, something I hadn't done in a few years! I am hooked again! After naps it was back outside for more snowy fun! The fun continued on into the next day, with my car finally being able to moved into their driveway. But since the weather was still not great, the kids and I stayed for another night! We had so much fun in Sweet Home! Thanks Bill, Shawnna, Ryan, and Kristin for the fun and time to catch up! Cold Trip to the Zoo

Today was a beautiful, all be it cold day as it only got to the mid 30's today. I decided that the kids and I needed to get out of the house....even if it was cold. So it was off to the zoo. My friend Misty and her son Lincoln came along also...it was a fun day. We were trying to walk her baby out...for those of you who don't know Misty she is 9 months pregnant with her second son. The zoo was so peaceful, not many people out braving the chilly weather but I am so glad that we did. After going through the NW animal exhibit, polar bears, and primate's we headed into the cafe for lunch and some warming up. Then it was off to the elephants, play area, and then the Alaska exhibit. We tried going to the Africa exhibit but it must have been too cold for the animals because there were none to be found. Then it was through the Pacific Shore exhibit and home. It was a wonderful day and I am glad we braved the cold weather! After dinner and baths it was a bedtime snack of popcorn (Brooklyn's favorite treat right now) and bed. The kids had a long day with not much sleep! Enjoy! Good-bye 2007....Hello 2008

Well I can't believe that 2007 is over and it's already 2008, not sure where the time goes! We spent New Year's Eve day at home getting ready to go over to Brady's mom's house for the night. Jason was so excited because we were camping at Grandma's. We had our trailer over there for family on Christmas so we just left it there so we had a place to crash on New Year's Eve. It was a nice evening..dinner and games with Summer, Charmayne, Michael, Misty, Ryan, and Lincoln. We awoke in 2008.....had breakfast and visited for a bit and then headed home. Both Brady and I are getting colds...so we were ready to come home and relax. Below is a video of Jason singing Jingle Bells while he paints sun catchers. Zoo Lights!

The first few pictures of breakfast were from Saturday....Jason was all geared up with his cooking apron and chef's hat to help me make pancakes. On Sunday, we had a quiet morning at home and then went to church. After church it was home for lunch and naps. I managed to make a cheesecake and do several loads of laundry while the kids napped. Brady relaxed and read his book. After naps we headed to Kathy's...Summer arrived Friday morning and Jason has been asking to see her everyday. We decided to go to the Zoo Lights at the Oregon Zoo...even though it was wet and cold! We all had a great time. I love seeing how excited Jason and Brooklyn get about these things! We were joined by Kathy, Carl, Michael, Charmayne, Summer, Misty, Ryan, and Lincoln! We will be going back next year! It was an amazing light display!

Christmas morning began quietly with Brady and I up before the kids. We managed to enjoy a cup of coffee and talk while we waited for Jason and Brooklyn to wake up. The first to wake was Jason and he was so excited. It was fun to watch him look at the Christmas tree while waiting for Brooklyn to wake up. He did find the partially eaten cookies and letter that Santa left him during the night. He was so amazed and excited that he left them a note! Once Brooklyn woke up it was time for presents! It was a great morning....Jason and Brooklyn played with their new toys while Brady and I made breakfast! Yummy breakfast burritos! Jason loved his new camera...I did include a few pictures that he took! I will continue to do so! After breakfast we all showered and got ready to head to Brady's moms house for the remainder of the day!

We arrived to a full house at Kathy's...Brady's cousin's from California were up (Malissa, Ken, Kayleen, Landon, Ken's sister Lynn) plus Charmayne and Michael were still here as well as Misty, Ryan, and Lincoln. Not long after we arrived Jason's Christmas wish came true...SNOW! He had been praying for snow for a week! It made me so happy....I thanked God and almosted wanted to cry when I saw how happy and excited Jason was! I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!

This weekend began on Friday morning with Jason, Brooklyn, and I heading down to Melissa's after breakfast. Brady brought the trailer down after he got off of work. We are celebrating our 31st birthday and also Christmas with my family. Friday was pretty relaxing....just us and Melissa and Brandon all day until Eric, Rodney, and Brady arrived. Saturday began very soggy....but it was sure nice to have our trailer! After a breakfast of pancakes, we all got ready and headed into Corvallis to Evergreen's for Indian food. Most of us enjoyed the food....it was new to a few. But at least they tried it! After lunch we all (Mom, Dad, us, Eric, Tami, Evan, Olin, The Richards, and Melissa, Rodney and Brandon) headed back to Melissa's house for presents and poker. I am proud to say I was victorious at the poker match and beat out everyone! Sunday was church at Mom and Dad's church in Lebanon and then dinner at Mary's. We ended up leaving early due to Brooklyn's mood...not a good one. Lucky for me she slept the entire ride home! I need to thank Shawnna for the pictures, since I forgot my camera!

Brooklyn's Birthday Party Weekend

Saturday began with Melissa and Brandon being dropped off by Rodney who had to work in Portland today. We soon got into decorating the Christmas tree that Jason picked out....it's a bit short but he insisted the taller trees would not fit in our house. I ended up doing the tree while Jason helped Brady hang lights on the house. After lunch, Brady's brother Todd and his girlfriend Gertie and new son RJ (3 months) came over a visit. This was very exciting and special for us since we had not seen Todd in over 3 years! We were excited to meet our new nephew...he is a very happy and cute boy! After visiting was over, Jason and I headed to the grocery store for frosting for Brooklyn's birthday cake and dinner for the kids while Rodney and Brady headed to Claim Jumper for our dinner. Melissa and Rodney's friends Jeanie and Shane came over for dinner and to meet Brandon for the first time. Then it was time for play time with Rodney and bed.

Sunday began cold and quiet. But it was soon time to start the day and get things ready for Brooklyn's birthday party. Melissa made pancakes for breakfast. While Brady and I stayed home with Brooklyn and Jason; Melissa, Rodney, and Brandon headed out for some shopping. While they were gone we finished the cleaning and put the kids down for naps. During naps it started to snow, sad to say it didn't snow long enough to have any stick around. We also managed to have some quiet time to read and talk. Around 2:30 Mom showed up for the party and soon the Richard's were here. Then Mom, Carl, Charmayne, and Michael arrived followed by Misty, Ryan, and Lincoln. It was a wonderful time with spaghetti dinner, presents, and cake. Once all of the guests had left it was bath time and then we watched Brooklyn's new Veggie Tales movie "The Wizard of Ha's". I have to say that Brady and I enjoyed the movie just as much as the kids! Once the kids went to bed, Brady and I sat in the hot tub and headed to bed. Thanks to all who were a part of Brooklyn's special day...we love you all!

Happy First Birthday Brooklyn!!!!!

Today began with Brooklyn's favorite breakfast: scrambled eggs with chopped spinach and cheese, toast, and banana's. After breakfast it was a fast clean-up and getting dressed to head to Brooklyn's 1 year check-up. Happy to report all is well...she weighs 21 lbs 8 oz and is 31 inches tall. Growing well...her doctor was very happy with her development! Once we left the doctor it was time to head home for lunch and naps, this allowed mommy time to wrap her presents. Jason helped me make cupcakes for her birthday, he even helped her blow out the candles! He's such a big helper and a wonderful big brother. After dinner and cupcakes it was time for baths and presents. Jason again, being the helper that he is, helped open her presents. Brooklyn got her presents from us and Jason today, Sunday is going to be her birthday party with family and friends. Keep your eyes open for those pictures!

Civil War Saturday......GO BEAVS!!!!

Our day began with the weather man promising snow....big surprise no snow. After breakfast and cleaning Jason, Kristin, and Ryan began construction of the gingerbread house. Mom and Dad soon arrived and Mom jumped in to help with the icing for the gingerbread house because I was making a mess of it. Next to arrive was Melissa, Rodney, and Brandon. Everytime I held Brandon today he made a sad grumpy face for me. No good conversations between me and my nephew today. The occasion for the gathering today? Civil War game, Oregon State Beavers vs. Oregon Ducks. Everyone, with the exception of Ryan and Eric (present via text messaging on Brady's cell), were rooting for the Beavers. Happy to say that the Beavers beat the Ducks 38-31 in double overtime! YEAH! GO BEAVERS! We had lunch during the game....yummy chicken ravioli lasagna, bread, salad, and lots of munchies! Rodney especially enjoyed the rice krispy treats! After the game Melissa, Rodney, Brandon, Mom and Dad headed home to try to beat the weather (high winds for tomorrow) while the rest of us enjoyed left overs and watched "Ice Age: The Meltdown."

Friday in Canby

Thursday night Ryan and Kristin came home with Brady from Salem...around 8:30. Shawnna dropped them off with him so we will have them for the weekend. Bill and Shawnna are off to South Beach to have a weekend alone to celebrate Shawnna's birthday. Friday morning began with Kristin and Jason snuggling on his Thomas couch while he played his computer. We then made rice krispy treats and chocolate cookies. Next came cleaning and then a nap for Jason. Brooklyn took a long morning nap and wasn't quite ready to go back down. Ryan watched her while Kristin and I enjoyed the hot tub. When Jason woke up the playing continued....I honestly couldn't tell you how many laps Jason and Kristin ran around the house playing "bad boys" (cops). They also played lots of Diego. After a dinner of pizza it was quick bath/shower for my kids. When Brady got home we headed off to Portland to go to the Portland International Raceway to see the Christmas light display that they put on. I tried to take some pictures while we were there but couldn't get any to come out. I only managed a couple of pictures of the car ride up to the raceway. After we got home it was late and passed Jason and Brooklyn's bed times and they headed off to bed while the rest of us watched "Don't Forget the Lyrics" and sat in the hot tub.

Thanksgiving Camping at Beverly Beach

This year we began a new family tradition....camping over Thanksgiving. This year we went with our friends who are more like family: Bill, Shawnna, Ryan and Kristin Richards. We camped at Beverly Beach State Campground just north of Newport. We were blessed with beautiful, all be it chilly, weather and a great time.

Wednesday, November 21

The day began early for us all. The kids and I headed to work with Brady in Salem so Shawnna could pick us up there. After leaving Salem we headed to Sweet Home to help finish loading the Richards trailer and hit the road over to the campground. After many rounds of "Old McDonald" we made it to camp, and somehow managed to squeeze the trailer into their site. Then it was a quick lunch and off to Walmart for forgotten items. Brady picked up Bill in Corvallis after work and they headed over with our trailer (first trip with new trailer!). After camp was set up we managed to relax around a campfire before heading to bed.

Thursday, November 22 (Happy Thanksgiving!)

Thanksgiving day began crisp and clear! I think it was about 31 degrees when we woke up. But it was a beautiful morning. After breakfast we all got dressed and headed out. The kids stayed with at camp with the Richards and Brady and I headed into town for more supplies. After returning to camp, I headed in to clean up the trailer and get ready to start cooking for dinner. Brady headed out to play at the playground with Brooklyn (Jason was napping), Kristin, Bill, Shawnna, and Ryan. Brooklyn enjoyed the slide, her favorite thing! I guess she had a few issues with sand....but it didn't stop the fun! Thanksgiving dinner was wonderful! We had a deep fried turkey (thanks to Bill!), stuffing, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, surprise mashed potatoes, rolls, salad, and pumpkin cheesecake! It was a wonderful evening and full of fun! After we had cleaned up from dinner we headed back to our trailer to get the kids ready for bed. First baths and then stories on our bed. After kids went to bed, Brady and I crawled into bed and read our books before calling it a night.

Friday, November 23

This morning was a few degrees warmer, but not much. We still had frost. After waking up Brady headed out to build a fire for our breakfast! We make a wonderful potato scramble in the dutch oven! After breakfast Bill, Shawnna, Kristin, and Ryan headed down to Florence to visit some friends who are camp hosts at Washburn. After Brooklyn's morning nap we headed down to the beach, which of course we forgot the camera SORRY! It was so beautiful, a good 10 degrees warmer on the beach than in camp. Jason and I hunted for treasures and found a few shells to keep. We also found fossils, he was so curious! The dogs enjoyed playing fetch in the waves while Brooklyn talked a blue streak while in her backpack to Brady. After a few hours on the beach we headed back to camp for lunch and kids naps. Brady and I enjoyed the quiet inside the trailer and took some time to read which is something we don't get to do a lot of at home. Once the Richards returned we decided on dinner....deep fried hot dogs. But not only did we deep fry hot dogs, we fried the buns to. We even fried dessert, twinkies. While it was all yummy...we all agreed that it was way to much grease and we won't do it again. Once all of the kids went to bed, the adults stayed up around a wonderfully warm fire.

Saturday, November 24

No frost this morning....40 degrees. It was cloudy but warmer this morning. After a morning fire and breakfast of cornmeal pancakes and sausage we enjoyed some time around camp. The kids played at the playground and we sat around the fire. We then headed to the beach but when we got there there was no beach, very high tide. So the kids and dogs played in the creek instead. After that Brady and Jason drove back to camp while the rest of us walked. As we got back to camp Mom and Carl pulled in for an afternoon visit. The nights dinner was chili with left over turkey...yum. Surprised at how good it was with turkey. We also had home made french fries to go with the chili. Dinner was followed about another wonderful campfire and then bed.

Sunday, November 25

After a lazy morning at camp we packed up for home....even though none of us were ready to leave. We all got a big surprise on our way out of camp. Melissa, Rodney and Brandon stopped by for a brief visit. Once home the unpacking, laundry and cleaning began. I have hopes of having all of the laundry done by tomorrow....we shall see!

Birthday Party Fun

Today started at home for Brady and I, we needed to finish putting away things in our new trailer! After a few hours we headed down to Sweet Home to visit with the Richard's. Today is Ryan and Kristin's birthday party. Shawnna took the kids on Friday so Brady and I could make fast work of getting and organizing the new trailer. Jason helped make the birthday cake for Kristin and enjoyed eating even more! Before the party began Shawnna and I (while Bill and Brady napped) planned our camping trip menu. I have to say that we eat really well while we camp! Soon after people started to arrive for the festivities. I was happy to have Eric, Melissa, Rodney, Brandon, and mom and dad there! We are so lucky to have family and friends like we do!

A Thursday in Canby

Today was spent at home. The kids enjoyed playing in my bedroom while I did laundry. Brooklyn is so happy in the mornings...don't know where she gets it. Neither Brady or I are morning people. The favorite time of day is when Brady gets home from work...horsey rides are always in order. Today they (Jason and Brady) chased Brooklyn around the living room and kitchen. Wish you could have heard the giggling that was going on! While Brooklyn was taking a bath Jason turned the plunger and toilet paper roll into his own private rocket ship. He flew that rocket around the bathroom while she finished her bath! I love his imagination!

Sisters and Nephews

Today started with Brady and I waking to some heavy winds which lasted most of the day. After he headed to work I got ready for visitors. Tami, Olin, Melissa, and Brandon came over today! Evan had some work to do at Cascade Locks so Tami and Olin decided to make the hour drive and visit us instead of staying all day at the hotel! I am so glad that they made the drive! Melissa came over around 9 and Tami arrived around 11. Jason was so happy to have the babies and aunties here! He loves babies! Brooklyn was happy to see her aunts but jealous that she had to share her mommy with the babies! Olin and Brandon are growing and changing so much! We had lots of smiles and cooing going on today! I only hope that we can have more of these visits! It's hard not living close to either one of them....but that is life and we will make the best of it!

RV show weekend with the Richard's!

Our weekend began on Friday taking Porter to the vet for his chronic ear problems, hopefully this time we can figure out what is causing it so we can properly treat it! While there, Jason took a phone call from Shawnna letting us know that they were in Canby and would be at our house soon after they headed to Safeway to pick up chips and soda for dinner. Brady picked up pizza on his way home from work and dinner was done! After a nice evening of the kids playing and the adults visiting, we headed to bed around 10 since none of could keep our eyes open. Saturday began with pancakes and bacon. Our friend Sandi came over and watched the kids while we headed the RV show to check out options for a new trailer since we are outgrowing ours fast! Sandi brought over rice crispy balls, cookies, frosting, and candies to make turkeys! The kids had so much fun! Bill, Shawnna, Brady, and I also had fun at the RV show. While Bill and Shawnna looked for the next 5th wheel (no bunks allowed!), Brady and I hunted for a fit for our family camping needs. We found what we were looking for in the Malibu by Skyline. If all goes well we should be picking up the trailer on Friday. After the RV show we headed to Claim Jumper for lunch! YUM! After a trip to the dealer to look at what is hopefully going to be our new trailer we headed home to some excited children and one tired Sandi! After all wound down we watched the Oregon State/Washington game (Beavers won!) and while Bill and Brady watched part of the game Shawnna and I sat in the hot tub and had a nice visit. Not often that we get to visit just the two of us, looking forward to the next time! Sunday was spent cleaning out our current trailer and loading everything into the garage. After naps we headed to Brady's mom's house for dinner and visiting. Keep an eye out for pictures of our new trailer! It's maiden voyage should be over Thanksgiving to South Beach!

A Weekend in Brownsville

Jason, Brooklyn, and I spent a long weekend in Brownsville, we left Canby Thursday afternoon on a somewhat sad note. One of our dogs Porter managed to escape our yard and run off. After several hours of looking, no Porter. The kids and I headed to Brownsville and Brady stayed home to get ready for his gun show in Eugene and to look for Porter. (Friday, a nice family got in contact with us and they had Porter). Thursday evening was spent worrying about Porter, helping Grandma make mac-n-cheese, and just catching up as it had been awhile since we had seen each other. Friday we went to Melissa's house and then to lunch with Rodney. Both Jason and Brooklyn loved my curry noodles, their faces were yellow from the sauce. It was quite the sight! Friday afternoon we went and played at the new park in Brownsville, we had not been there before but it was a wonderful time and I am excited to see Brownsville get such a kid friendly play area finally. Saturday we made fleece blankets for the kids, Mom taught me how. Jason even helped on his....it was his project. That afternoon we went to visit great-grandma. She was so happy to see Jason and Brooklyn. Jason even picked her flowers from her yard! Saturday night after the kids went to bed, Mom and Dad stayed with the kids while Brady and I went up to the Brownsville Tavern for a few beers and to relax. We ended up running in to a bunch of friends/family that we hadn't seen in a long time. Found out that Brady's younger brother Todd is living not that far from us and has a new baby. Were we surprised! Sunday was spent at church, visiting over lunch at my Aunt Mary's house (Tiffani and her new daughter Mercedeez were there, we hadn't met the baby yet. So cute and tiny!) and relaxing in Brownsville. After dinner we all headed home.

Today was Halloween...and Jason was very excited to dress up as Diego today! Before the trick-or-treating could begin the kids had to be patient so we spent some time in the front yard. Jason helped Daddy park the car and then rode his tricycle. Brooklyn helped with the tricycle and then found the leaves. After dinner we did some trick-or-treating in our neighborhood and then came home to hand out some candy. A few pieces also got to be enjoyed, Jason was kind enough to share a sucker with Brooklyn. We then headed over to Brady's mom's house in Oregon City. We met Lincoln, Misty, and Ryan there. Lincoln was a puppy dog. I think the favorite part of the night (besides the trick-or-treating) was playing Carl's guitar!
